NetSquealer System Description
NetSquealer is a zero-maintenance, zero-headcount appliance that sits anywhere on your network. You order it, we configure it, install it, test it, train you, then we monitor and upgrade it for you.
Using newly developed technology, NetSquealer monitors all of your network traffic and keeps copies of everything flowing on your network. This stealthy approach allows you to place NetSquealer
anywhere on your network to keep an eye on things.
NetSquealer also requires a network connection for it to "call home." It automatically gets updates from home base and is monitored by our support center. This means that you will have to provide it a way out of your network via NAT or some other means.
The NetSquealer hardware contains RAID disks, 100MB or Gigabit network ports, a high-speed database server and data analysis tools. This machine should be kept on a UPS in order to help maintain data integrity, but it does use a journaling file system to help with recovery in the event of a power failure.
Reports can be delivered by NetSquealer to email accounts, pagers, cell phones and via the web. These reports can be automatically issued daily reports, or can be triggered by certain employee uses of the Internet.
