How does NetSquealer work?
NetSquealer is a hardware solution that monitors all of the activity that it sees on your network. It records that activity in an internal database, analyzes it and provides reports to business management.

What kind of things can NetSquealer monitor?
NetSquealer can monitor every piece of Internet or Network activity on your network. Its intelligent gathering capabilities allow it to understand a number of high-level protocols, such as email, web and instant messaging. This understanding of high-end protocols provides better reporting and search capabilities.

I've already got a firewall with reporting on Internet activity. How's NetSquealer different?
NetSquealer is not a firewall, it is a high-end system that understands all of the data flowing past it. A firewall only understands that data is flowing through it -- not what that data contains, or what it means to your business.
For instance, NetSquealer understands and opens up all connections to web based email sites, such as Yahoo, MSN, AOL and Google mail. It monitors and records everything your employees are sending and receiving on those sites. Firewalls only know that a user visited that site -- not what happened there.
NetSquealer also provides advanced reporting facilities that can be used to track and grade employee's Internet use.

How much time will it take to manage NetSquealer?
None. NetSquealer is a stand-alone unit that is self-managing. There is no increased head count required.

Can NetSquealer monitor web-based email services, such as Yahoo, AOL or Google mail?
NetSquealer monitors all forms of email. It intercepts and monitors standard SMTP, POP and IMAP mail as well as all web based email.

What about attachments? Can NetSquealer monitor email and IM (Instant Messager) attachments?
NetSquealer monitors all attachments coming and going with all forms of email (web/SMTP/POP/IMAP) and all IM attachments.

Can NetSquealer keep an eye out for my Intellectual Property?
NetSquealer can monitor all data streams for dozens of types of proprietary items, such as client lists, schematics, patient information, etc.

Are there any alerting functions available?
NetSquealer can provide automated alerts based upon dozens of criteria. Employees can be monitored for the types of sites they're visiting, the types of information they're exchanging, the time of day they're online and more.
